About Karin Y. Coger, Esq.

With over twenty years of civil and criminal experience in litigation, Karin Y. Coger, Esq. has been a staunch advocate for her clients. However, her entrepreneurial spirit drove her to open the virtual doors of Coger Law Firm.

During her litigation days, Karin has practiced in the New Jersey State Courts and the US District Court, District of New Jersey. Karin’s extensive trial background includes successfully handling dozens of cases involving personal injury claims, automobile accidents, and criminal matters. Karin has also been certified as an Arbitrator for civil law cases in the State of New Jersey.

Then Karin decided to switch gears. She established Coger Law Firm, in 2019 focusing on intellectual property, small businesses and now, name, image and likeness law (NIL).

Karin’s academic achievements are equally impressive. She graduated cum laude from Hampton University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media Arts. She further pursued her studies at Howard University School of Law, obtaining her Juris Doctor degree.

Beyond her legal pursuits, Karin actively contributes to the community. From 2007 – 2023, Karin served on the school board for First Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School (First Philly), First Philly caters to a diverse student body ranging from kindergarten to twelfth grade, encompassing children from various ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds. The school’s mission centers around fostering a deep appreciation for literacy, recognizing its vital role in academic success across all disciplines.

Karin is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®, whose mission isto cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of “Service to All Mankind.”

Karin is also a member of the Continential Societies Inc. an international service organization dedicated to the socioeconomic and cultural welfare of underserved children and youth.

Karin lives in the Philadelphia area with her husband, Richard C. Plummer, III. Her hobbies include crocheting, crafting with the Cricut, and spending time with friends and family.
